Presented here is a fairly detailed account of the life of the New
Martyr Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna, utilizing numerous archival
photos of her and the Imperial Family, and considerable archival film
footage. In addition to the portrayal of her place in the Imperial
Family (as the sister of Tsar Nicholas II's wife, Alexandra, and wife
of the Tsar's uncle), we see her extensive charitable works in Russia
and the Holy Land--in building churches and monasteries and in caring
for the needy. We see her active involvement, along with her husband,
the Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich, in the Russian Spiritual Mission
in the Holy Land, and building and maintaining churches and monasteries
at the holy places, especially the Women's Monastery of St. Mary
Magdalene. We see her charitable works in Russia in building churches
and monasteries, especially her devotion to St. Seraphim and his
Women's Monastery at Diveyevo. The film concludes with Patriarch
Aleksei II of Moscow elevating her icon at her glorification ceremony
in April 1992, during the singing of the new hymns to her as a saint.
This one-hour video, made in Russia, is in Russian and accompanied with
an English narration translation.
